Explorers of the New World

Introduction:
Who were the explorers of the New World? What motivated them to come to this hemisphere? What challenges did they encounter here? What changes did they bring back to Europe? What is their legacy? Choose an explorer to research and collect  information.

:STEP 1
     Why did people explore? Click here to get an overview on why people went out into the world, risk their lives and 'explore'. Use the Internet information linked below to answer the basic questions of who? what? where? when? why? and how? Be creative in exploring the information so that you answer these questions as fully and insightfully as you can.
STEP 2
     You will use this information to create a Graphic Presentation in a flow chart setup that we will title, 'Explorers of the Millennium'. Each of you will create a  chapter in the presentation that will include:

Step 3:
Inspiration Process: Take a look at what is meant by 'graphic organizers' before you need to build one of your own. Make your own diagram on scrap paper. Plan out what you will do.

Step 4: Recreate your graphic plan using Inspiration.  Put your work into ":Landscape" format. Place appropriate graphics in your work. Use a good sense of font and color design to your boxes.

Step 5: Check all work before printing. Check for completeness! In addition do a spell and grammar check of your work.



Conclusion:
Your 'Explorer Chapter' will be included in the class book called 'Explorers of the New World'. A copy of this book will be given to each of you. Congratulations on all your hard work!
