They found this a good place for cod fishing, as also for the traffic in skins and furs, which
were to be got there at a very low price. But the crew behaved badly towards the people of
the country, taking their property by force; out of which there arose quarrels among them
(Ibid.:149).
Imagine stumbling onto the beauty of the Hudson Valley by accident! Englishman Henry Hudson was looking for a quick passage to China as he sailed along America's north Atlantic coast in 1609. Hudson thought he found what he was looking for when he entered New York Bay and what is now the river named for him. He and his crew of 18-20 men, sailing on a ship called the Half Moon, traveled about 150 miles up the river near what is now Albany before realizing it would not lead them to their destination of choice. What he did first find was the Hudson River of modern day New York.

You and your team of learners have been appointed by the Queen and King to accompany Mr. Hudson on his journey. Your task will be to gather information about your adventure. You will need to report back to a committee to determine if this voyage was a success. Be prepared to tell about Henry Hudson, his ship, navigation, what places you visited with Mr. Hudson, what you accomplished, and any hardships. In addition, you will travel, in time, to the present day. You will need to tell how Henry Hudson is remembered. In addition, we all know that a river was named after him. What is that river like today?Your information will be put into a PowerPoint presentation. You and your partner will be responsible to create TWO slides. Good luck! Do not let the Queen and King down. They want to present this to their homeland and let them know about the great explorer...Henry Hudson!

3) Once you have gathered your information and pictures you can then begin
to publish your information into PowerPoint. You will open up PowerPoint,
use the assigned template and save it as Hudson(& the number of your
question). Your PowerePoint requirements must have a graphic, title and
bulleted text
Step
4) Proofread your work, Spell-check your work! Read it out loud. Does it
sound ok? Can you make it better, more interesting? Do you have enough
details? Have your teacher look it over.
Step
5) Your slides will be saved on a disk. They will all be collated together
and presented as one slide show presentation.
Conclusion:
All good work needs to be shared. Your Henry Hudson multimedia presentation
will be shown to the entire class and classroom teacher. A hard copy will
be printed out and bound as a book for the classroom and one for the library.
Congratulations on a job well done!
